Ministry of Education Subsidized Online English Speaking and Writing Platform Now Available for Use by University Students
Under the commission of the Ministry of Education's Department of Higher Education, NTNU has launched the "National University English Speaking and Writing Assessment: Question Bank and Testing Platform Development" project. This project aims to develop a platform providing automated scoring and feedback for English speaking and writing, specifically for universities participating in the "Bilingual Learning Plan for College Students" initiative. The TEEMI platform, equipped with instant automatic feedback functionality for English speaking and writing, is now online and available for university students nationwide.
TEEMI is a free platform offering speaking and writing tests, suitable for in-class assessments, bonus assignments, or practice for English proficiency exams. Over 50 institutions and more than 20,000 students have already used this platform. The speaking test includes 10 questions, and the writing test has 6 questions, with instant automated feedback reports provided after each question. A teacher interface is also available for managing student results (please refer to the teacher operation manual).
TEEMI Speaking and Writing Practice System Overview Video (approximately 3 minutes, including an introduction, speaking, and writing demonstration): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4fxSDqB1X0
Details of the Speaking and Writing Assessment System are as follows:
Speaking Test: The test can be taken online without location restrictions, but a quiet and noise-free environment is required. It can be completed using any computer, tablet, or mobile device equipped with recording capabilities. The speaking test includes 10 questions, and immediate feedback on levels and specific itemized descriptions is provided after each response.
Writing Test: The test can be taken online without location restrictions, using a computer, tablet, or mobile device. The writing test consists of 5 questions, with instant feedback on levels and itemized descriptions provided after each response.
