(Applicable to the 113th academic year candidates)
First stage
Subject test: Both English and Science meet the upper standard.
Screening multiplier: (Chinese, English, Science) * 5, English * 3, Science * 3
Second stage
1. Exam results (50%): English * 1, Science * 1
2. Specified items: Review of documents (40%), group interview and comprehensive written test (10%)
Contents of specified items
  1. Review of documents: Course records (A), course learning achievements (B, D), diverse performance (F, I, J, L, N), learning process statement (O, P, Q), others (R. other supporting documents for review)
  2. Candidates must participate in the group interview and comprehensive written test; those who do not participate will not be admitted.
The order of consideration for candidates with the same selection score.

    Distribution admission

    (Applicable to the 113th academic year candidates)
    This department's distribution admission is divided into two groups:
    Department of Materials Science and Engineering - Illinois Dual Degree Program
    Priority recommendation is given to students in this group to apply for the 3+2 dual-degree program with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (ranked in the top 5 for Materials Science in the U.S.). In this program, students can complete both the bachelor's degree from National Chiao Tung University and the master's degree from the University of Illinois in 5 years. Freshmen can join faculty laboratories for specialized research, and each student is provided with an entrance scholarship of 50,000 NTD (distributed in two semesters).
    Department of Materials Science and Engineering
    We welcome applicants interested in metals, ceramics, semiconductors, polymers, energy, biomedical, nanomaterials, artificial intelligence materials, and simulation computing. Our department offers interdisciplinary courses with the Department of Optoelectronics and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Outstanding students can receive funding from the university for international exchange programs. Graduates have a wide range of career opportunities.
